Matter Labs Partnered with DappRadar
Matter Labs, the entity behind zkSync, has made a significant stride towards decentralizing its protocol by partnering with DappRadar to unveil an ecosystem portal for zkSync. This move is part of Matter Labs’ broader plan to progressively decentralize zkSync, emphasizing a vision to withdraw its direct involvement in the ecosystem.
zkSync is a layer-2 blockchain designed to enhance Ethereum’s scalability for payments. Developed by Matter Labs, it has already attracted over 200 projects and has facilitated more than 8.8 million testnet transactions, as per the protocol’s website. Earlier this year, the protocol’s mainnet launch saw approximately $115 million worth of assets bridged within the initial ten days.
Driving Decentralization
According to Matter Labs, collaborating with DappRadar is a strategic step towards achieving zkSync’s decentralization goals. This approach aligns with the zkSync credo, a document outlining the principles of trustlessness and sovereignty within the zkSync community.
The transition involves Matter Labs gradually reducing its active role in managing the zkSync ecosystem, paving the way for a more decentralized governance structure. As part of this transformation, DappRadar’s platform will enhance the visibility of decentralized applications listed within the zkSync ecosystem portal, ultimately increasing user engagement and garnering greater attention from prominent media outlets.
Matter Labs sees this transition as just the initial phase of a broader plan, with further steps aimed at fully decentralizing the protocol’s technology, community governance, and other pivotal elements of the network.
The move represents a pivotal moment for zkSync, marking a shift towards a more decentralized and community-driven ecosystem in line with the principles of blockchain technology.
